Front 2 legs are dark brown. Is this a large grass spider or a wolf spider (or neither)? Man-fingers for size.

Certainly wolf spider. Likely one of the Hogna lenta group.
I agree that it’s a wolf spider but I think it is a rabid wolf spider. …they can have black front legs….. In spite.of their scary name….they are harmless…
