This was a large spider, about 1.25". I found it behind some boxes in my basement laundry room.

My guess is that it's either a wolf spider or a black lace weaver.

It was pretty calm. It stayed in the same place for a while until I poked its leg with a pen. It ran along the floor and back behind the box.
